One of the first famous paintings made by Leonardo da Vinci, which at least until 1926 had the title "Portrait of a young girl", bears nowadays the title "Ginevra de Benci", because the juniper tree in the background reminded an art historian of the 20th century of the female name "Ginevra". However the depicted young lady is not the bride Ginevra de Benci, but the young widow Fioretta Gorini. Please, read more on my website.
