June 1469 in Florence; a very happy marriage: Lorenzo [de' Medici ] told Pope Innocent VIII shortly after Clarice's death [on 30 July 1488] that she was his 'most dear and beloved wife', and that it was so grievous to him, 'having been deprived of such a sweet manner and company', that he could find no peace.
